Ingredients:

  • Steak:
    • 1 lb ribeye steak, thinly sliced
    • 1/2 tsp salt
    • 1/2 tsp black pepper
    • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Vegetables:
    • 1/2 green bell pepper, sliced
    • 1/2 red bell pepper, sliced
    • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • Garlic Parmesan Sauce:
    • 2 tbsp butter
    • 4 cloves garlic, minced
    • 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
    • 1 cup milk
    • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
    • 1/2 tsp salt
    • 1/4 tsp black pepper
    • 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Additional:
    • 4 hoagie rolls
    • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded

Slice your steak and veggies, grate the Parmesan, and get your saucepan and skillet ready. Now, let’s start cooking up this cheesy, garlicky delight!

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Vegetables:
    • Heat a pan over medium heat. Add a splash of olive oil and sauté the onions and bell peppers until softened and slightly caramelized. Remove from the pan and set aside.
  2. Cook the Steak:
    • Season the steak slices with salt and pepper. In the same pan, add another tablespoon of olive oil and cook the steak over high heat until browned and cooked to your preference.
  3. Make Garlic Parmesan Sauce:
    • In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant. Sprinkle the flour over the butter and stir to form a paste.
    • Gradually pour in the milk, whisking continuously to prevent lumps. Once the sauce begins to thicken, stir in the Parmesan cheese, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Continue to cook until the sauce reaches a creamy consistency.
  4. Assemble the Cheesesteak:
    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
    • Slice the hoagie rolls without cutting all the way through. Fill each roll with an even distribution of the cooked steak and sautéed vegetables.
    • Drizzle the garlic Parmesan sauce over the steak and vegetables, ensuring it’s well-distributed.
    • Top with shredded mozzarella cheese.
  5. Bake:
    • Place the filled rolls on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for about 5 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  6. Serve:
    • Remove the cheesesteaks from the oven and let them cool for a minute or two. Serve hot and enjoy the creamy, cheesy, garlicky goodness.
