Ingredients:

For the Pizza Dough:

  • 2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 ½ cups warm water (110 degrees F/45 degrees C)
  • 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt

For the Waffles:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 ¾ cups milk
  • ⅓ cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs

For the Fried Chicken:

  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into bite-size pieces
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • Oil for frying

For the Pizza Toppings:

  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • ½ cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • Maple syrup for drizzling
  • Confectioners’ sugar for dusting

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Pizza Dough:

  2. Make the Waffles:
    • In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
    • In another bowl, mix milk, vegetable oil, and eggs. Pour the milk mixture into the flour mixture and stir until blended.
    • Preheat a waffle iron and cook the waffles according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Once cooked, cut into pizza-slice-sized pieces and set aside.
  3. Fry the Chicken:
    • Marinate the chicken pieces in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes.
    • Combine flour, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
    • Heat oil in a deep fryer or large skillet to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
    • Dredge the marinated chicken pieces in the seasoned flour and fry until golden brown and cooked through, about 7 minutes. Drain on paper towels.
  4. Assemble and Bake the Pizza:
    • Preheat your oven to 475 degrees F (245 degrees C).
    • Punch down the risen pizza dough and roll it out into a large circle on a floured surface. Transfer to a pizza stone or a baking sheet.
    • Sprinkle mozzarella and cheddar cheese evenly over the pizza dough.
    • Arrange the waffle pieces on top of the cheese, then distribute the fried chicken pieces evenly over the waffles.
    • Bake in the preheated oven until the crust is golden brown and cheese is bubbly, about 12-15 minutes.
  5. Finishing Touches:
