After that, we’ll put our sandwiches together with fresh lettuce, tomato, and creamy tartar sauce.

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Fish:
    • In a shallow dish, mix flour, cornmeal, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
    • In another dish, blend the beaten egg with milk.
    • Dip each fish fillet first into the egg mixture, then coat evenly with the flour mixture.
  2. Fry the Fish:
    • Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
    • Fry the fish fillets until they are golden brown and cooked through, which should take about 4-5 minutes per side.
    • Remove the fish from the skillet and let it drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
  3. Assemble the Subs:
    • Slice the sub rolls open.
    • On each roll, place a lettuce leaf, a few tomato slices, and a fried fish fillet.
    • Spread a generous amount of tartar sauce over the fish.
