If you love tasty sandwiches, this Cheese Steak Sub recipe is perfect for you! It’s easy to make and filled with juicy steak, melted Cheddar cheese, and fresh veggies. Great for lunch or dinner, this sandwich is sure to make your mouth water. Let’s get started and make a delicious sub!

Ingredients:

  • Thinly sliced ribeye steak – 500g
  • Cheddar cheese, sliced – 8 slices
  • Green bell pepper, thinly sliced – 1
  • Onion, thinly sliced – 1
  • Mushrooms, sliced (optional) – 150g
  • Hoagie rolls – 4
  • Salt and pepper – to taste
  • Olive oil – 2 tbsp
  • Garlic powder – 1 tsp
  • Butter – for toasting rolls

Get all your ingredients ready. Slice your steak and veggies. Remember, using Cheddar cheese will make your sub extra cheesy and delicious. It melts well and adds a nice yellow color to your sandwich.

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Ingredients: Thinly slice the steak, bell pepper, onion, and mushrooms. Season the steak slices with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  2. Cook the Vegetables: Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet. Add the sliced onions and bell peppers (and mushrooms, if using). Sauté until they are soft and slightly caramelized. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  3. Cook the Steak: In the same skillet, add the remaining olive oil. Add the steak slices and cook until they are just done (avoid overcooking). If needed, do this in batches to not overcrowd the skillet.
  4. Assemble the Sub: Return the cooked vegetables to the skillet with the steak. Mix well. Divide the steak and vegetable mixture into four portions in the skillet. Top each portion with two slices of Cheddar cheese. Let the cheese melt slightly.
  5. Toast the Rolls: While the cheese is melting, butter the insides of the hoagie rolls and toast them on a separate pan until lightly golden.
  6. Final Assembly: Carefully scoop each portion of the steak and cheese mixture into a toasted hoagie roll.
  7. Serve: Serve the Cheese Steak Subs hot, optionally with a side of chips or a salad.
