Creamy Smoked Sausage Pasta is a simple dish made with pasta, smoked sausage, and a creamy tomato sauce. It’s easy to make and tastes delicious.

Ingredients:

Main Components:

  • 12 oz package of Kielbasa, sliced into rounds
  • 16 oz box of pasta (I prefer Rotini and Penne)

Sauce:

  • 2 TBSP of unsalted butter
  • 2 TBSP of minced garlic (fresh or jarred)
  • 1 cup of heavy whipping cream, chilled
  • 2 cans (8 oz each) of tomato sauce
  • 3 TBSP of tomato paste
  • 1/2 cup of shredded Parmesan cheese (I prefer freshly shredded from a block)
  • 1 tsp of Italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp of garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Dried parsley, for garnish

How to Make Creamy Smoked Sausage Pasta:

1. Prepare the Ingredients:

  • Slice the Kielbasa into small rounds.
  • Measure out all the seasonings.
  • If you prefer freshly shredded Parmesan, shred it from a block.

2. Cook the Pasta:

  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
  • Add your preferred pasta, either Rotini or Penne, and cook according to the package instructions until al dente.
  • Drain and set aside.

3. Brown the Kielbasa:

  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Add the sliced Kielbasa and cook until browned on both sides.
  • Once browned, remove the Kielbasa from the skillet and set aside.

4. Create the Creamy Sauce:

  • In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add the unsalted butter. Allow it to melt completely.
  • Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  • Pour in the chilled heavy whipping cream, tomato sauce, and tomato paste. Stir to combine.
  • Add the shredded Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  • Allow the sauce to simmer for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally until it thickens to your liking.

5. Combine and Serve:

  • Add the drained pasta to the skillet with the sauce. Toss well to ensure the pasta is fully coated in the creamy sauce.
  • Add the browned Kielbasa back into the skillet and stir to combine.
  • Serve the Creamy Smoked Sausage Pasta in plates or bowls.
  • Garnish with a sprinkle of additional Parmesan cheese and dried parsley.
