Dulce de Leche Chocolate Cake is a lusciously moist, rich chocolate cake topped with creamy dulce de leche. It’s an easy-to-make dessert that’s perfect for any occasion, requiring no complex frosting and delighting everyone who tries it.
Ingredients:
For the Cake:
- 2 cups Flour (Cake flour preferred, all-purpose is fine)
- 2 cups Sugar (Caster or granulated)
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Baking Powder
- ½ tsp Baking Soda (Bicarbonate of soda)
- ¾ cup Rich, Dark Cocoa Powder
- 1 cup Boiling Water (Add a teaspoon of instant coffee for flavor enhancement)
- 1 cup Milk
- ¾ cup Vegetable Oil
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
- 2 Eggs
For the Topping:
- 2 cups Dulce de Leche
- Sprinkles (optional)
How to Make Dulce de Leche Chocolate Cake:
- Prepare the Batter: Begin by whisking the dry ingredients (flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, baking soda, and cocoa powder) in a large mixing bowl. In a separate bowl, mix together the wet ingredients (boiling water, milk, vegetable oil, vanilla extract, and eggs). Gradually pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients, stirring continuously until you get a smooth, thick batter.
- Bake the Cake: Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease and line a 30cm x 20cm cake pan with parchment paper. Pour the prepared batter into the pan and bake for approximately 30-45 minutes. Check for doneness by inserting a toothpick into the cake; it should come out clean. Once baked, remove the cake from the oven and let it cool completely before taking it out of the pan.
- Decorate with Dulce de Leche: When the cake is completely cool, whip the dulce de leche until smooth. Spread or pipe this creamy topping over the cake. If you wish, add sprinkles for a festive touch. Now, slice and serve this delightful cake!
