Hey there, friends! I just whipped up these adorable Oreo Truffle Ornaments and couldn’t resist sharing the recipe with you. They’re super easy to make, and I bet you’ll have as much fun making them as I did. Perfect for the holiday season, right? Let’s get started! 🎄✨
Ingredients:
- 1 package (14.3 oz) Oreo cookies (36 cookies)
- 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
- White chocolate or candy melts (16 oz)
- Mini Reese’s Cups (unwrapped)
- Variety of sprinkles (red and green for holiday effect)
- Red licorice strings or any edible item for the ornament loops
- Coconut oil (optional, to thin out the chocolate)
Instructions:
- Prepare the Oreo Mixture:
- Place Oreo cookies in a food processor and pulse until fine crumbs are formed.
- Add the softened cream cheese and blend until a sticky dough forms.
- Form the Truffles:
- Scoop out 1-inch balls of the Oreo mixture and roll them between your palms to form smooth balls.
- Place the balls on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet.
- Chill in the refrigerator for at least 20 minutes.
- Melt the White Chocolate:
- In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the white chocolate or candy melts in 30-second intervals, stirring between each until smooth. If too thick, add a teaspoon of coconut oil to thin it out.
- Decorate the Truffles:
- Dip each Oreo ball into the melted white chocolate, ensuring it’s completely coated.
- Tap off excess chocolate and return the truffle to the parchment paper.
- While the chocolate is still wet, sprinkle with your chosen holiday sprinkles.
- Press a mini Reese’s Cup upside down into the top of the truffle to mimic the ornament cap.
- Allow to set slightly, then add the red licorice loop, attaching it with a dab of melted chocolate.
- Set and Serve:
- Allow the truffles to set completely, either at room temperature or in the refrigerator for about 10 minutes.
- Once set, they’re ready to serve or package as festive gifts!
Notes:
- Truffles can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
- For a more intense flavor, use mint or peanut butter Oreos.
- Get creative with decorations to make each ornament unique!
